Code for dress, jewelry, nails, & perfumes/sprays
You must dress professionally for ALL SHIFTS to maintain a respectful and comfortable work/home environment. Please adhere to the following dress code:
PLEASE WEAR:
Scrub pants and a scrub top are ideal.
Pants/jeans, t-shirts that allow you to perform all necessary tasks while maintaining a professional image.
PLEASE DO NOT WEAR:
Low-cut or tight-fitting clothing
Tank tops, sleeveless shirts, midriffs, crop tops, open-back shirts
Tights/leggings
Shorts, skirts, or dresses
Clothing with inappropriate messaging, holes, or tears
Bracelets that dangle and can get in the way of necessary tasks
Scented perfume/cologne that could trigger asthma.
Long or artificial nails (please keep nails natural, short, and filed smooth). Based on WHO research:
Long fingernails, either natural or artificial, can damage patient skin (especially fragile skin or sites of injuries), puncture gloves easily, and limit performance in hand hygiene practices.
Long or artificial nails are more likely to harbor gram-negative pathogens compared to short, natural nails, both before and after handwashing.
Nail polish can be used but should not be chipped or peeling.
Freshly applied nail polish does not increase the number of bacteria recovered from periungual skin, but chipped nail polish may support the growth of larger numbers of organisms on fingernails
